Marlboro CD-V1 Cigarette Radio (Late 1950s?)
(plastic tube novelty radio)

Marlboro CD-V1 Cigarette Radio (Late 1950s?)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

This is rare and interesting advertising display piece. This is a full miniature five-tube set. I have seen variations on the internet where the radio also used transistors. The auto transformer on the radio (used to go from 120V to 220V) was bad and the 30C5 tube was replaced with a 50C5. The top does have some discoloration. It could be scanned and recreated if desired (I will be glad to help with that). The red color is the plastic case (except for the top) and the rest (white areas) are a type of decal. There is not a lot of info that I could find on the internet on this type of radio. John Slusser's price guide shows these with a value of $600-800. The radio is in good working order. 13"H x 9"W x 5"D.
