Detrola 148 Tombstone (1937)
(wood tube tombstone radio w/SW)

Detrola 148 Tombstone (1937)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

We just don't see many Detrola radios here on the West Coast. We have had three or four show up, and this one is a rare beauty! Once again Detrola used similar chassis and cabinets in many radios, and several were made for other companies. Even this tombstone version of the Detrola 148 has two different "stationized" dials for the same Ingraham cabinet. One chassis has seven tubes and the other has seven plus an eye tube and is an AC set. This model 148 is a seven-tube, three-band (SB,SWx2) AC/DC set. We replaced all of the capacitors, checked resistors and tubes, replacing where necessary. We installed a safety fuse, audio cable and a new polarized power cord. The original Rola speaker is present and in fantastic condition. Gary did a marvelous job on the refinish. The beautiful Ingraham cabinet with its superb veneer work and trim is stunning! It has the original knobs and badging. The multi-colored, illuminated dial is in perfect condition. Don't miss your chance to own this rare and beautiful Detrola! 16"H x 13"W x 9"D.
