Stewart-Warner 1302 (1935)
(wood tube table radio w/SW)

Stewart-Warner 1302 (1935)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

Stewart-Warner, based in Chicago, started manufacturing radios in 1925. Up to then they were a very successful company making automotive instruments. The company over-produced radios, making 1000 sets a day. This forced them to sell at reduced rates, not a good business model. The instrument division was always a success and carried the company to profitability. The 1302 is a five-tube, two-band (SB,SW) set. The radios were well made and were good performers. Blake did his usual profession restoration process. All of the capacitors were replaced with new equivalents. Resistors and tubes were checked and replaced where needed. He installed a new power cord, audio cable and safety fuse. The radio has a really nice original finish. Gary cleaned it up and "spiffed" up the radio with a few coats of lacquer, then polished it to a gorgeous "piano" finish. He installed a reproduction of the original grille cloth. The knobs, speaker, dial and chassis are all original. A really great radio at a great price! 17-1/2"W x 12"H x 9"D.
