THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD! |
Founded by John J. Ross in 1931, and by 1936 boasted being the sixth largest radio manufacturer in America. They made radios for close to 100 other companies, and during its 17 years in business possibly produced 400 models. The company ceased operation in 1948. The model 100 is a six-tube, two-band (SB,Police) radio. We replaced all of the capacitors with new equivalents. Checked the tubes and resistors, replacing where needed. A new power cord (the original plug was kept) and audio cable were installed. Gary stripped and refinished the walnut cabinet. He ended up with a nice "piano" lacquer finish. A new "Radio Daze" dial was installed, and the original knobs are present. The speaker was re-coned. This is a gorgeous "large dial" Detrola and it's ready for your collection! 14"W x 10"H x 7"D. |
