Zenith 12-S-232 "Walton" (1938)
(wood tube tombstone radio w/SW)

Zenith 12-S-232 "Walton" (1938)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

Ah yes folks, the "Big Daddy" of the 232 series. The twelve-tube behemoth Walton. Zenith produced a seven-tube, a nine-tube, and the 12-S-232 is the rarest. You just don't see them very often, and you can only hope you have the means to buy one when they do appear. This twelve-tube, four-band (SB,SWx2,police) sports the push-pull audio output that produces a ton of volume with console-like fidelity. The motorized "Robot Dial" or "Shutterdial" functions perfectly. The chassis has the correct stamp (12S232) making this a "numbers matching" 12-S-232. We replaced all of the capacitors, check resistors and all of the tubes are strong-tested Zenith tubes. We installed a safety fuse and a cable for an external device. This is one of the nicest original finish Waltons we have ever seen. No dings, scrapes or repairs. The lacquer still has its original semigloss luster. The radio has all of its original knobs, and a period correct reproduction grille cloth. We even included an extra 6T5 eye tube, which is weak, but impossible to find. Want to own one of the most desirable radios in the world? Here it is! 23"H x 18"W x 13"D.
