Emerson F-141 "Cube" (1937)
(wood tube table radio w/SW)

Emerson F-141 "Cube" (1937)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

Earlier this year, we had sold an L-141, Emerson's response to the "cube" radio fad that people were buying at record levels. This was what I thought at the time was another one, however it wasn't. This is the "F-141" model, an AC/DC set. They are very rare in that Emerson didn't make many of them. It's an "L" chassis, except there is no transformer, uses a ballast tube, and no schematic. We replaced all of the capacitors. The resistors and tubes were checked and replaced where needed. A safety fuse and new antenna lead were installed. The Ingraham cabinet (the badge is present) has Burl Walnut and Walnut veneers with Maple and Ebony inlays. Gary stripped the cabinet, and ended up with a gorgeous "piano" lacquer finish. The original chassis, knobs and power cord are with the set. The speaker was missing, so we installed a new PM speaker, and this radio sounds fantastic! This is a rare, great performing and beautiful radio for any collection, and a wonderful addition to Emerson collections. 14"H x 11"W x 8"D.
