THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

The Hammarlund Manufacturing Company was founded in 1910 by Oscar Hammarlund in New York City. They designed a variable capacitor that soon became the industry standard. In 1931, the company changed from Hammarlund-Roberts to Hammarlund Manufacturing, when they produced the first commercial short wave receiver. In 1951. They moved to North Carolina, producing parts and radios until 1973. The HQ-180 is an eighteen-tube, six-band (AM plus SWx5). Just a few of the multitude of features are a triple conversion receiver, crystal filter selection, clock, and the matching 6" x 9" speaker, a Hammarlund S-200. The set is in fantastic condition. Blake replaced all of the capacitors with modern equivalents. The resistors and tubes were checked and replaced where needed. The radio weighs in at 45 pounds, so we have adjusted the price as shipping will be additional. This radio is one of the best out there for those avid "DXer's." 19"W x 10-1/2"H x 13"D.
