Fada 1000 Catalin "Bullet" (1946)
(Catalin tube table radio)

Fada 1000 Catalin "Bullet" (1946)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

This highly collectible Catalin "Bullet" radio, model 1000, is in excellent condition. They are known as the "Bullet" for their Art Deco streamlined design, sometimes even referred to as the "Streamliner." FADA first manufactured Catalins in 1940. Butterscotch with red trim is always beautiful, but this particular example is a fantastic dark color, untouched as far as polishing & buffing as is often done and actually appears as two-toned red vs, the actual butterscotch & red. The oxidation of cabinet makes for a fantastic color combination. It has not been touched except for light cleaning in order to maintain this combination which is one of the darkest I've ever seen. Absolutely no repairs, hairline fractures, cracks or repro parts except the factory repro back which is even correctly embossed as original. Beautiful lighted dial and nice clean chassis. Everything is original except its reproduction back. Plays very well picking up all my local stations and beyond with no distortion, tho I don't normally play my Catalins and never recommend doing so, but that is up to individual. 10"W x 6-1/2"H x 5-1/2"D.
