This is a very nice and compact six-tube super-het which offers both AM and Shortwave. The brightly tri-colored dial lights the top on the AM band and the bulb lights the bottom when switched to Shortwave. Although the dial says Tone-Master, I have to think it was made by The Warwick Radio Co. as research suggests for Halson. Halson model 53X shows an exact sameness (see the 53X sold earlier), tho it does not have the Tone Master Dial, yet is identical otherwise. The cabinet, which has been beautifully refinished, is made of mahogany & walnut and sports an intricate in-lay stripe that accentuates the mahogany veneers. The speaker cloth is an accurate reproduction and the wooden knobs factory originals. New cloth power cord. Unrestored, but plays well with short attached antenna... better with longer one. 11-1/4"W x 9-1/4"H x 8"D. |
