Trav-Ler 549 (1937)
(wood tube table radio w/SW)

Trav-Ler 549 (1937)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

Here's a neat smaller Trav-Ler, two-band wood set with very colorful, brightly lit multi-colored dial & bright green tuning eye that winks at you as it should opening & closing when tuning stations. It is a six-tuber that was recently restored by previous owner & plays well on both AM & SW picking up my locals & beyond clearly with lots of volume. I cannot find much about this radio other than info on the metal factory back stating "Made in U.S.A. by T.R. Corp., Chicago." There is a serial # of 96755 which might lead to more knowledge if a person wanted to pursue. It also has references to Hazeltine patents with several pending patent #'s. This was common for Chicago factories of the day making radios for many other companies with their own names on them. This could likely be one of those. Notice the "Plymouth" metal tag on chassis. Was this a nickname or a company name...my research turned up nothing. Still a unique keeper. Ready for play/display & due to size should ship anywhere fairly cheaply. 16"W x 8-1/2"H x 7"D.
