Stromberg-Carlson began business in 1894 in Chicago as a result of a partnership between two employees of Chicago Bell Telephone, with the initial aim to produce a better telephone. They moved to New York in 1904 and expanded into radios in 1923, adding TVs in 1939, and the company ceased radio and TV production altogether in 1956.
