Stromberg-Carlson 430H (1939)
(wood tube table radio w/SW)

Stromberg-Carlson 430H (1939)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

This is by far the largest table radio I have ever restored, and SC didn't waste the space. They stuffed it with a very well made nine-tube chassis, and a huge 10-inch speaker driven by push-pull outputs. The sound is incredible, and is better than many consoles. Eight preset buttons. The unique eye tube has two windows for stronger and weaker stations. The cabinet is ornate and very attractive. Twelve coats of lacquer for a nice, slick finish with very few flaws. A full set of tubes that all test new. All new caps and resistors. A full alignment produced a very good performer on BC and decent on shortwave. The reproduction graphics weren't sized right, so a little shadow behind them. The repop knobs were not very good, but the best I could find. I had to make the Bezel. The color was not original so I tinted all the plastic to match the trim. I think it looks incredible! I made a cable to use the phono jack for your mobile devices. This is the most amazing table radio you are likely to see, and is very rare. I have a ton of work and money in this one. I sure hope someone will think it is worth the price. Needs external antenna. 24-1/2"W x 12-3/4"H x 10"D.
