Zenith 9-S-244 (1937)
(wood chairside radio w/SW)

Zenith 9-S-244 (1937)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

Having to get up from your easy chair to change the station was a real PITA. Zenith fixed that with this stylish and feature packed chairside version of the popular 9S232 Walton. Three bands with the famous Zenith shutter dial. Smooth, accurate tuning with the flyweight enhanced, two pointer tuning mechanism, and electronic tuning eye. Fast scan with the electric motor tuning drive. Dial indicators for volume, tone, and on/off/distance switch. A bookshelf to keep your favorite Zane Grey novel handy. Awesome sound from the huge 10-inch speaker. A sliding glass panel to keep the kiddos out of the controls, and there must have been several to inflict the hundreds of little dents and dings on the trim. A meticulous chassis restoration with all high testing tubes and a bright, NOS 6U5. For the Zenith purist, I can put in an original 6T5 annular tuning eye for an additional $150. This radio is very rare. None has ever sold on the attic. If you like style, high tech, and unique, you can get it all right here. FedEx web site says it should ship, but it won't be cheap. Requires an antenna. 28"W x 22"D x 18"H.
