Crosley Super 11 (1937/1938)

I don't do consoles, but this one fell in my lap and I fell in love with it. This is just an awesome radio. The cabinet is gorgeous in a simple, understated manner. The gold mirrored dial is unique and striking. It took 22 coats of lacquer to slick it up, with just a bit of grain showing in a few places. A few dings and specks, and several small, fairly good veneer repairs. The spacious eleven-tube chassis is very well designed and the performance is excellent on broadcast and shortwave. The dial is very accurate and linear on B/C. Matched 6K6 push-pull outputs and a 10-inch speaker, fronted with my most luxurious gold speaker cloth. The sound is outstanding as only a console with a big front can do. I found a genuine, fairly bright, original type 6G5 eye tube. I had to make the eye tube bezel. The graphics don't match the originals, but are correctly labeled. Make no mistake, this is a gorgeous, high performing radio, and not common. None has ever sold on the Attic. I have no idea the value so let me know what you think R/E the price. Requires an external antenna. 40"H x 24-1/2"W x 13"D.
