Garod 5A-2 "Commodore" (1946)
(Bakelite tube table radio)

Garod 5A-2 "Commodore" (1946)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

Here is a sleek, very Art Deco radio in near mint condition. It has a streamlined profile, vertical louvered red grille, and slide-rule dial in an original (not re-painted) Bakelite cabinet. This tiny Bakelite five-tube AC/DC radio is truly all-original, has been hand polished and its electronics have been completely restored. The case is perfect, no chips or cracks and very, very few "flea bites." The knobs are original, the cardboard back is intact and the label reads, "Garod model 5A-2, Brooklyn, NY." The lettering on the clear plastic slide rule dial is reverse painted with red numbers outlined in gold, the sensitive plastic and all lettering are perfect. The radio has a good cord. A beautiful little post-war Art Deco gem and these, when found at all, are usually chipped and attractive sweet originals like this one are hard to find. Another great radio from my personal, smoke-free collection. About 10-1/2"W x 5-1/2"H x 4"D.
