Philco PT-46 "Transitone" (1940)
(Bakelite tube table radio)

Philco PT-46 "Transitone" (1940)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

Introduced in January 1940 as a replacement for the August 1939 Model PT-45, just 4,475 of these models were made. The brown Bakelite cabinet with gorgeous louvered Art Deco design retains a beautiful shine that contrasts nicely with its white preset push buttons and matching white torpedo knobs. The case is in mint condition with no breaks, cracks or hairlines. The dial lights up nicely. A perfect replacement Retro-Tronics back is on the set. The set takes a little while to warm up, but the radio plays very well across the dial when the accompanying wire antenna is extended. Another great radio from my personal, smoke-free collection. About 9-3/4"W x 6-1/2"H x 4-1/2"D.
