Motorola 53H "Dashboard" (1953)
(Bakelite tube table radio)

Motorola 53H "Dashboard" (1953)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

A collector's favorite, this atomic era radio is affectionately referred to as Motorola's "dashboard" model. Red is the most sought-after color. All original factory painted red Bakelite case in near mint condition. The cabinet retains a beautiful shine and has no modifications, repairs or repaints, cracks, hairlines or chips. Just the typical minor paint loss on the upper front corners and a couple "flea bites" elsewhere. The knobs are original with minor tarnish to the gold metal dial inserts. The white metal mesh grille is in excellent original condition with no dents, dings, rust, or warping. No repaints touch-ups or over sprays. Just a shadow of the oval speaker seen through the pin holes of the metal grille. Surprisingly, this model was not designed with a tuning dial light. The tuning dial works fine. This set is playing very well and picking up all my local AM stations without any problem. Another great radio from my personal, smoke-free collection. About 11-1/2"W x 6-1/2"H x 7"D.
