Mantola R-654-PM (1946)
(Bakelite tube table radio)

Mantola R-654-PM (1946)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

This beautiful Bakelite Mantola R-654-PM was manufactured in 1946 for the B.F. Goodrich Company to be sold in their Silvertown tire stores. This radio was manufactured by Continental Radio and Television, later known as Admiral. The case has been cleaned and polished and looks great. Internally, all of the capacitors have been replaced with modern equivalents and have all of the out of tolerance resistors. I have also repainted the dial pointer and backdrop to the original colors. This radio sounds fantastic as I was getting strong reception at night from stations over 500 miles from our Pennsylvania location. A neat feature of this radio is the original O.P.A. sticker on the back. The Office of Price Administration started on August 28, 1941 and ended on May 29, 1947 and served to control prices during World War II. This sticker indicates the maximum price that this radio could have been sold for in specific states. In summary, a beautiful, quality, and interesting radio sold by B.F. Goodrich. 12"W x 8"H x 7"D.
