RCA 65U Radio/Phonograph (1946)
(wood phonograph)

RCA 65U Radio/Phonograph (1946)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

Five-tube AM radio & 78 rpm (only) Victrola record player. If you've got a bunch of old 78's and no record player to play them on, this is a nice unit. It has been cleaned and lubed and a new ceramic mono cartridge with 3 mil sapphire needle especially made for 78 rpm records installed. The record changer works (it doesn't always trip at the end of a record); however, it's not advised to play a stack of records due to how brittle they have become with age. Using it as a single play is best (photo of records on changer for illustration only). The chassis was gone through with new filter & paper capacitors, resistors checked & changed as needed. Tubes all tested good. Tube sockets cleaned as was the volume control. Tuner was cleaned and lubed for smooth operation. New line cord. Receives all the local stations with its factory built-in loop antenna. The cabinet is all original finish with some minor wear, scratches and paint specks as to be expected after 76 years. 17-1/4"W x 10-1/2"H x 17-1/4"D.
