Philco 41-226 (1941)
(wood tube table radio w/SW)

Philco 41-226 (1941)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

Introduced as part of Philco's line-up in the fall of 1940, the unique throwback Art Deco inspired cabinet was quickly dubbed "The Sled." The cabinet on this example was stripped and totally refinished using spray toners topped with a light spray of clear enamel for durability. The original Tenite grillework is still in nice shape with only minimal warpage. The original back cover is still intact too! This AM/SW set is a strong player across the dial with its powerful built in loop antenna. The Short-Wave band is more active at night. Pushbutton presets work, however the original off/on pushbutton (first button on the left) was beyond repair, so a brand-new volume control was installed with an off/on switch in place of the original volume only pot. Good-tested tubes, new capacitors, tested resistors and new line cord complete this restoration. And it is Bluetooth or MP3 player compatible with a 3.5mm cord installed so you can enjoy your favorite music through the radio by plugging into your device. Be sure to check my other listings as I offer a quantity discount on my radios if you purchase more than one. 13-1/2"W x 8-1/2"H x 7"D.
