(plastic tube table radio)

Setchell-Carlson 427 "Frog Eyes" (1947)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

I offer a quantity discount on my radios, so check out my other listings and drop me a line if you're interested in more than one. A Bluetooth/MP3 player 3.5mm cord has been installed for another listening option beyond the standard AM broadcasts. You can plug in to the headphone port of your device and enjoy the music of your choice through the radio. These Setchell-Carlson sets are very collectible. Dubbed the "Frog Eyes" due to its unique thumbwheel controls protruding through the top of the cabinet. Because the chassis sits upside down, it's not subjected to dust & dirt accumulating, so this is the cleanest chassis you'll ever see in a radio! It has been totally recapped (every capacitor and all out of tolerance resistors replaced). It's been aligned, tubes tested strong, controls cleaned & lubricated, so it plays loud and clear across the dial with its built-in loop antenna. If you loved the two-tone color combinations on those great cars of the 1940's and 1950's, here's a radio inspired by them! 12-1/2"W x 8"H x 7-1/2"D.
