General Electric JCP-562 (1942)
(wood tube table radio)

General Electric JCP-562 (1942)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

Produced around the start of WW2, and among the last sets GE produced before production ceased "for the duration," this little wood bedside/desk/kitchen radio no doubt got lots of use during those dark days of war. A five-tube radio, featuring a set of strong tested tubes, all capacitors have been replaced, resistors checked & replaced as needed. New line cord. Controls cleaned and lubricated for smooth operation. It plays loud and clear across the dial with its built-in loop antenna. The cabinet finish is mostly original, with only a few minor blemishes consistent with its age. The top was stripped and redone with spray toners to eliminate the ubiquitous "water ring" from a houseplant. The whole cabinet was treated to a light coat of clear enamel for durability. New grille cloth, and back cover completes the restoration. A nice memento from the uncertain time surrounding the "Day of Infamy." 11-1/4"W x 7-1/4"H x 7-1/2"D.
