Bendix 0526E (1946)
(wood tube table radio)

Bendix 0526E (1946)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

Known among collectors as the "waterfall" because of its elegant flowing grille work, this popular 5 tube Bendix is one of three models in their 1946 line up that used this chassis. This was the only one with a wood cabinet and it's quite a nice one with multi grain veneers and colors. This example has been totally refinished with four different color toners, with the front panel done in cherry, and topped off with a light coat of clear enamel for sheen and durability. Features a beautiful multi-color glass dial scale, the original back cover is still very nice, and the bottom of the cabinet is boldly stamped with the date of manufacture (3-29-46). The chassis was gone through, and all filter and wax capacitors changed. The controls were cleaned and lubricated to make them move as smoothly as they did when new. It's a strong playing radio with lots of volume, easily receiving all of my local stations with its large loop antenna. 13"W x 8"H x 7-1/2"D.
