General Electric 429 (1955)
(plastic tube table radio)

General Electric 429 (1955)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

Here's a seldom seen GE with a cabinet molded in red plastic. A mid-century modern design five-tube AM set with a "Dial Beam" in which there is a large red lighted dot that follows the dial pointer from behind as you tune it. Very cool feature! The chassis was gone through, and all filter and wax capacitors changed. The controls were cleaned and lubricated, and a strong tested set of tubes installed. The troublesome silver mica caps in the IF cans were painstakingly replaced. Has a factory built in RCA jack for your aux audio needs. The cabinet is in very nice condition with a few superficial blemishes hardly noteworthy and one tiny 1/2" hairline underneath by a chassis bolt so common to these thin plastic cabinets. Nothing that detracts from the overall striking appearance of this rare GE, this model making its debut on Radio Attic! 13-3/4"W x 6-1/2"H x 7"D.
