Crosley 14AG (1940)
(wood tube table radio)

Crosley 14AG (1940)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

This is set is a classic example of one brand copying another. The far more common Zenith 6D525, affectionately known as the "toaster" due to its bold grille design, uses the exact same Ingraham designed grille as this Crosley from a year earlier! Biggest difference between the two models is this Crosley has five tubes while the Zenith has six, but the Crosley has the advantage with a two-position tone control and two bands (AM & Shortwave), neither of which are on the Zenith. This example features excellent reception with its built-in loop antenna. It's been gone through with all new filter and paper capacitors, strong tested set of tubes, controls cleaned and lubricated. New line cord. Cabinet was totally refinished with toners and topped with a light spray of clear enamel for durability and sheen. Solid brass escutcheon polished to a beautiful luster. 12-1/4"W x 9-1/2"H x 7"D.
