Philco 41-230
(Bakelite tube table radio)

Philco 41-230

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

You can almost hear the booming voice of FDR in his famous declaration of war speech on 12/8/41 just by looking at this seven-tube powerhouse Philco. It receives both AM and the now defunct Police band, housed in a slim Bakelite cabinet. It has a massive internal wire-loop antenna, so it really pulls in all the local AM stations loud and strong. The chassis was gone through with new filter and paper capacitors, tubes all tested good. Tube sockets cleaned as was the volume control. Tuner was cleaned and lubed for smooth operation. New line cord. The cabinet is beautiful for being 83 years-old, with an all-natural finish that has one tiny stress crack along a seam that's hardly worth noting. It has an amazing dark cherry marble swirl pattern that really pops under bright lights. Almost looks Catalin-esque! The lighted glass dial really pops on this one, too, when viewed in a dark room! Original grille cloth and proper Philco decals complete the restoration. 14"W x 10-1/2"H x 7-1/4"D.
