THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD! |
This is a scarce radio, with only one other example ever to appear on Radio Attic. The Air King brand was made in Brooklyn and this model is a five-tube plus ballast AM receiver with a unique cabinet design resembling a log cabin. The cabinet was completely stripped and refinished using multiple toners and topped with a clear spray of enamel. Amazingly the brass name plate is intact and still shines. New clear dial cover. The chassis was completely gone through with all new capacitors, including micas, resistors changed as needed, new line cord, NOS ballast tube, and strong tested tubes. It plays well receiving all of my local stations even with the antenna wire still bundled! Or use the attached 3.5mm aux cord to play your own audio source through the radio. 12-1/2"W x 8"H x 7"D. |
