Philco 37-84 (1937)
(wood tube cathedral radio)

Philco 37-84 (1937)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

This is a unique radio in that it's among the last cathedral cabinet style radios Philco produced. It's also the last four-tube regenerative radio Philco produced. It's a stylish little set with a very nice all original cabinet. The faux woodgrain finish on the front panel is still intact. Usually they are hopelessly chipped and scratched. The finish on the shell is a bit weak in spots but was kept as is to retain the original finish throughout. New reproduction grille cloth. The chassis is exceptionally clean and detailed. It's been totally recapped and all out of tolerance resistors have been changed, new volume control for smooth operation. It sports a strong set of tubes and receives all of my local stations with an antenna wire attached. These regens are a bit finicky and they have an adjustment screw on the back of the chassis to prevent squealing. As such I was not able to add my usual 3.5mm aux cord. As a bonus, this set includes the original instruction booklet that was kept in the back since new! 15"H x 12-1/2"W x 8-1/2"D.
