Emerson 157 "Clockette" (1937)
(plastic tube table radio)

Emerson 157 "Clockette" (1937)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

This is an excellent example of a very hard to find Emerson radio, a "Clockette." The case is made up of three sections: an ivory Plaskon front, a brown Bakelite middle, and a black Bakelite back. And with original ivory matching knobs. Other than a very miniscule fleabite, this case is perfect, no cracks, hairline cracks or repairs. The original brass dial pointer and brass grill cloth are in place. The model number is stamped into the black Bakelite case. The most amazing feature is that the radio still has its original 70+ year old resistance line cord, which is almost always missing or in need of a new line cord. For a collector who relishes originality, this is truly a find. A couple of capacitors have been replaced, and the radio is playing fine, picking up my local AM stations. The dial light reflects thru the red Emerson logo dot on the front. The original antenna wire is still on the set, and when extended, you achieve better reception. Midget sized at 7"W x 7"H x 5-1/2"D.
