Philco 48-230 "Flying Wedge" (1948)
(plastic tube table radio)

Philco 48-230 "Flying Wedge" (1948)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

A great Philco Transitone Retro designed case from 1948 known to collectors as the "Flying Wedge" for obvious reasons. This polystyrene case is in great condition, no cracks or other cosmetic issues at all, still has its showroom shine. The radio is playing great, picking up all my local AM stations. It has a Retro-Tronics back in place. The knobs are original. It was introduced in late 1947 for the 1948 model year priced at $29.95. The contrasting ivory lattice grille really gives it nice eye appeal. A really beautiful dial lit up. About 11"W x 6"H x 6-1/2"D.
