Motorola 53-LC-1 Portable (1953)
(plastic tube portable radio)

Motorola 53-LC-1 Portable (1953)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

Motorola subminiature tube portable from 1953 with a hand wound clock. These four-tube sets originally sold for $45 in 1953, quite a bit of money for a beach radio. They came in three colors: dark green, gray and dark maroon. Three sub-miniature tubes, and one standard tube. This radio plays great, picking up all my local AM stations. It has been recapped and checked completely by a professional. The clock is also working. The case is in excellent condition, with no cracks, chips or hairline cracks. There is a paint chip on two, but nothing major. Handle and line cord are in nice condition. About 9"W x 8"H x 2-3/4"D. I will include a color copy of the neat 1953 advertisement for the radio.
