Zenith 6-D-2614 (1942)
(wood tube table radio)

Zenith 6-D-2614 (1942)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

This Zenith with a "boomerang" style dial was one of Zenith's last product runs before switching over to WW II production. Wonderful case design by Robert Budlong, one of Zenith's most prolific designers. Two front butterscotch knobs with original grille cloth. This case is in beautiful condition. No veneer issues, no splits or other problems. A nice Retro-Tronics back is in place. Twin dial lamps. The radio is playing very well, picking up all my local AM stations. The chassis has been gone over by a pro, replacing everything that needed replacing. It's interesting that the chassis for this set is the same chassis as the Zenith 6-D-614 "Darth Vader" radio. Zenith must have had a lot of extra chassis right before WW II began. Date stamped inside the case is December 30, 1941. This radio picked up all WW II broadcasts from Europe and the Pacific. What a piece of history! About 12-1/2"W x 7-1/2"H x 6-1/2"D.
