Motorola 45P5 "Pixie" Portable (1954)
(plastic tube portable radio)

Motorola 45P5 "Pixie" Portable (1954)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

This Motorola mid-50s Retro midget is a sub-miniature tube portable. It has three sub-miniature tubes and one miniature tube. It's in excellent condition, no cracks or breaks. The leather handle is also in great condition. This set takes a 45 volt "B" battery and one 1.5 volt "C" cell battery for its power supply. 45 volt batteries are still available, but are very expensive. Hence, it has not been tested and is more for display than performance. It must have spent a lot of time at the swimming pool, as there is some rust in the "C" cell battery connection space. A great example of Motorola history. Tiny at 6"W x 4"H x 2"D.
