Zenith 6-D-015Z "Consoltone" (1946)
(Bakelite tube table radio)

Zenith 6-D-015Z "Consoltone" (1946)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

A classically designed Zenith with a crescent dial produced right after the end of WWII, when the company stopped war time production. I love radios that appeared in movies, and this one starred in Red Skelton's "The Fuller Brush Man" from 1948. The Bakelite case is showroom shiny and in excellent condition with no cosmetic issues like cracks, chips or hairlines. The cases on these models often have damage from carrying the radio by the handle. The dial light works fine, and the red indicator light is bright when the radio is on. The brass plate is in nice shape and shiny. This is a six-tube chassis, so it plays really nicely, picking up all my local AM stations, and some distant stations at night. The case has a nice replacement back. About 12-1/2"W x 6-1/2"H x 5-1/2"D.
