Emerson EC-353 w/Ingraham Cabinet (1938)
(wood tube table radio)

Emerson EC-353 w/Ingraham Cabinet (1938)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

Here is a pre-War 1938 Emerson in a beautiful Ingraham cabinet that you seldom see, much less have an opportunity to acquire. The cabinet has a wonderful piano finish with beautiful inlays, and a tambour door in the front that works perfectly. The handle is in perfect condition, and the radio also has its original full wooden back. The chassis is the exact way I received it 20 years ago, and the set is playing fine as is with just a little static between stations. I know we all like these vintage radio to work and play, but I honestly don't think this is a radio that you want to play and to listen to very much. The beauty and value is virtually all in this beautiful perfect walnut cabinet by the Ingraham Cabinet Company of Bristol CT, which was founded by Elias Ingraham in 1828. Ingraham invented what was called the "curved case" cabinet, and this model EC-353 with its inlays is a beautiful example of the company's attention to detail. Ingraham made cases for some other radio manufacturers, but more for Emerson than any other. About 12"W s 9-1/2"H (to the top of the handle) x 8"D.
