I don't use the word mint very often, but this post-war Pilot Model T-502 from 1946 is in truly mint condition. This radio looks like it just came off the dealer’s shelf. The case has no cosmetic issues at all, and is stunning with a great case shine. This is not a painted case, it's a black and white Plaskon combination and it really stands out. The chassis is an AM/SW combination, and it plays really well on the AM band picking up all my local AM stations clearly, and many distant stations at night. You'll need an exterior antenna to get much SW reception. Beautiful large dial, with original knobs, back, and original label on the bottom. The set was made by the Pilot Electric Mfg. Co. of Brooklyn, NY. If you will click here, there is a great story about this company and a restoration of this model. It's a small set at about 8-1/2"W x 6-1/2"H x 6-1/2"D. |
