RCA 5X (1936)
(wood tube table radio w/SW)

RCA 5X (1936)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

A beautiful Art Deco 1936 RCA model 5X with book matched walnut front and curvy rounded sides. This RCA has an ingenious dial light arrangement whereby the top half of the amber dial is cleverly backlit when the AM broadcast band is selected and, the bottom half of the dial is illuminated when the shortwave band is selected. It has its original grille cloth, knobs and antenna wire hank. The cabinet has been refinished using the very finest toning and finishing lacquers, producing a gorgeous luster, paying respect to the original detailed finish. The electronics have been completely restored, and it plays very clearly the AM band. The shortwave band is the old Dick Tracy police band, so nothing to pick up in these days. The set has a rear speaker and it also produces sound from the top grille openings. There is a complete 100% label on the bottom, along with the "Cabinetry By RCA" badge. A great part of RCA radio history. About 12"W x 9"H x 6"D.
