Crosley D-25-MN "Color Radio" (1953)
(plastic tube clock radio)

Crosley D-25-MN "Color Radio" (1953)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

This Crosley color clock radio is a Retro icon from the 1950's and is in beautiful condition. The styling on these early 1950's clock radios was obviously inspired by the automobile industry with the use of flashy metal trim, swooping symmetrical curves, and a speedometer-like dial. Anyone who is familiar with these radios knows that the metal clock and radio escutcheons almost always show badly tarnish wear from 70 years of use. The metal escutcheons on this set are in my opinion excellent condition with minimal tarnishing. The color coordinated maroon clock knobs are on the radio, and the original back also. And there is a complete label on the back. The clock is working, keeping good time. The radio has been completely gone over by a pro, everything needing replacing was done, and it is working and playing picking up all my local AM stations clearly. This is a really nice example that looks quite elegant in its original maroon color with just a very few tiny paint chips, but no cracks, chips, significant cosmetic issues, or repairs. You would be hard pressed to find a better D-25, as they just don't get much better than this. And it comes with a copy of its original instruction booklet. About 13"W x 7-1/2"H x 7"D. Shipping will run about $30-$35 to anywhere in the USA. It's a substantial radio!
